About ParlText
ParlText is a comprehensive database of texts related to legislatures developed as part of the V-SHIFT Momentum project under the direction of Miklós Sebők at the poltextLAB AI laboratory of ELTE Centre for Social Sciences. The current 1.1 release (ParlText CEE) covers four Visegrád countries—Czechia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia—and contains nearly 2.3 million text vectors and metadata drawn from parliamentary speeches, bills, and laws from 1990 to 2024. Each record includes dates, text content, titles, and—for speeches—parliamentary agendas and speaker names, all linked through a unique identifier based on the ParlLawSpeech standard to ensure consistency and interoperability.
A 2.0 release is currently in preparation and will expand the database with new countries and jurisdictions, broadening its coverage beyond the original Visegrád Four. Further details on scope and timeline will be announced on this page.
